New Mutiny Theatre Company comprises recently graduated students of the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School who have just completed a sixty show tour around the west of England and Wales with an exciting, original and accessible adaptation of Romeo and Juliet.

This same show has played to sellout audiences at the Edinburgh Fringe during the 2013 festival. The show ran at the Bosco Theatre at the Assembly Rooms, George Square everyday between the 1st and 18th of August 2013.

We were met with an enthralled and positive response from our audiences. This audience consisted of mostly school children and teachers, and we think our show has something very important to give to a far wider range of people. The Edinburgh Fringe Festival offers us the perfect platform to show our unintimidating and entertaining version of this special text to people who may never have approached Shakespeare before or those who may be daunted or put off by Shakespeare’s verse, and at the same time impress the most frequent and hard-nosed theatre aficionado.

The previious year, students in our position took Twelfth Night to the Edinburgh Fringe with much success and was described as an “Excellent introduction to Shakespeare for youngsters” Debbie Cannon, Fringe Review.
